Questions & Answers
Q:How mant of your racks do you think you could stack?
A:We think that we could stack up 10 of our racks.
Q:How could you test the structure without damaging any of the CD's?
A:We used textbooks and other heavy materials to put ontop of our CD rack while we were making it
to make sure it could withstand the weight of the CD's plus additional weight. We also did the "squish test" by squishing
the sides to see where it needed more reenforcement.
Q:How much tape and newspaper did you use?
A:We used alot of newspaper and a little bit more then our roll of tape.
Q:What type of structure is your CD rack?
A:Our CD rack is a frame structure.
Q:What methods have you used to stabilize and strengthen your structure?
A:We put two sturdy rolls to support the walls of our rack. and we put two ligns of rolls ontop
and on the bottom of the rack. Also we used two pieces of tape to create tension to pull one of the sides of our CD rack so
it is more stable.
Q:What forces are acting on your sturcture? Where?
A:Theres compressions on the rolls that creates the racks of our Cd rack, when we put CD's on them.
There's tension on the tape that hold those rolls in place when the CD's are in.

Q:What types of loads are acting on your rack? Where?
A:The dead load acting on our Cd rack is gravity itself. The live load is the CD's that are on the
rack and the other racks that are stacked ontop of it.
Q:What is the direction and magnitude of force?
A:The direction is down
Q:If you had to build another rack, how would u reduce the amount of materials you used?
A:We wouldn't use as much tape and be sure to use the newspaper more efficiently.
Q:Would yourr structure be different if you were limited to using only 50cm of tape? Explain.
A:We would not use the tape to secure the ends of our weaves. Instead we would weave the tips into
the other weaves. We wouldn't need to use the tape for the rolls either. Instead we could intergrade the rolls into our rack
by weaving them in. The only reason we would use the tape would be to pur our decorations up.
